Encamp is one of the parishes of Andorra, located on the Riu River. It is also the name of a town in the province. Other localities include Vila, El pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Les Bons and Engolasters. As of 2004, it has about 11,800 inhabitants. The center of the municipality lies 1,300 meters above sea level. In the locality is the Pic (peak) des Pessons (9,400 ft).
Economy
Its economy is mostly supplemented by tourism, particularly skiing. There are also facilities for generating hydroelectric power.
